Stephanie Berry

Stephanie Berry is Varsity Vine’s college matchmaker.

She creates balanced college lists that fit the identity, talents, and academic history of students while considering the regional, enrollment, selectivity, and program-specific preferences of students.

She can recommend which high school courses are more preferred by highly selective institutions and advise additional colleges to apply to based on a student’s transcript and the high school curriculum they previously selected.

Stephanie also specializes in guiding students as they create their activity lists for the common application, teaching students to showcase their leadership and other ways they spend their time. Where students have demonstrated significant achievement in extracurriculars, she can also match those interests to specific programs that colleges are known for in a variety of areas.

Additionally, the Vine utilizes her researching talents to dig into the academic support programs at schools that seniors are considering who might have needs because of physical, medical, or learning disabilities. She values helping students acknowledge their needs when considering which colleges provide the matching accommodations.

Stephanie currently works at the University of Mississippi as a learning specialist, meeting with college students 1:1 daily to help them with study skills and time management strategies. Helping students through Varsity Vine is a hobby that brings her joy.

Stephanie has a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Virginia, a M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from Vanderbilt University, and a M.Sc. in Educational Research Methodology from the University of Oxford abroad. After moving from one Oxford to the other, she resides in Oxford, Mississippi with her husband and perfect match of 25 years. She has experience as a parent navigating the college admissions process and launched her own three children into the University of Michigan, Yale University, and Stanford University. Now she enjoys helping others make that successful transition in her spare time.
